Moving Made Simple: From Searching to Settling In

If you’re one of the many Canadians planning to relocate in the coming months, this guide is for you. I’ve outlined six steps to make your move easier. My hope is to alleviate some of the hassle of relocating—so you can focus on the adventure ahead

    1. Choose a Community

When planning a relocation, one of the first things you’ll need to decide is where you want to live. This could be as broad as an area of town, or you might narrow it down to a special neighbourhood.

Depending on your priorities, you may want to start with communities that are close to work, friends, family and/or your preferred schools. If you commute, map out the route and check on the availability of public transportation, if you plan to use it. Then, if possible, try out the commute during rush hour to see what it’s like.

    Housing Needs Checklist

Finding the right home starts with understanding your needs.
Our Housing Needs Checklist helps you clarify what’s essential, nice-to-have, or not a fit. Use it to guide your next move with confidence.

First - Time Home Buyers Tax Credit

Buying a house for the first time is a big and important decision in your life. As someone who represents you and looks out for your best interest, We would like to introduce you to the First-Time Home Buyers’ Tax Credit.

First-Time Home Buyer’s Credit (FTHBC) is a government program geared towards buyers like you. The objective is to reduce costs associated with purchasing a home. As a first time buyer, you are eligible for a 15% income tax credit on a maximum of $5,000 of home purchase costs such as legal fees and land transfer taxes. It can be claimed for the taxation year that you acquired the house.

You are considered to be a first time buyer if neither you and your spouse or common-law partner has owned and lived in another home in the year of the purchase or in any of the four previous years.
