Fall is a terrific time to sell your home!

Everyone has heard of the Spring selling season, but some listeners may not know that Fall is also an ideal time for seniors looking to downsize and sell their homes. 

The Fall season offers a combination of favourable market conditions and lifestyle benefits for both buyers and sellers.  


Motivated buyers

For starters, buyers who are searching in the fall tend to be more serious. Families often want to settle in before the holiday season and colder winter months, making Fall a prime time for those motivated to move quickly. This can mean faster offers and smoother transactions. 

Just from a logistics point of view, once busy families have settled into their back-to-school routines, they have the bandwidth to take on the process of searching for their next home, organizing their own property’s sale, and all that moving entails for them. To help prepare your home to sell this fall:

  • Clean up your yard. Rake leaves and debris and trim all dying foliage and dispose of it.
  • Optimize light. Cut back select bushes or branches that are blocking the sun from your windows.
  • Get creative with curbside flowers and seasonal items. Marigolds, mums, and pumpkins are colourful, inexpensive options.
